I modern times, all countries in Southeast Asia have different governments.
Cambodia:
  • Government is set up as a constitutional monarchy
  • Executive Branch: King, Prime Minister, 10 deputy Prime Ministers, 16 Senior Prime Ministers, 26 Ministers, 206 Secretaries of State, and 205 Undersecretaries of State
  • Legislative Branch: 123 elected officials in National Assembly and 61 members of Senate
  • Judicial Branch: Supreme Court, Appeals Court, and Lower Courts
  • The ruling parties at the moment is the Cambodian People's Party, and the National United Front for an Independent, Neutral, Peaceful, and Cooperative Cambodia
Thailand:
  • Constitutional monarchy
  • Executive Branch: King and Prime Minister
  • Legislative Branch: Fully elected House of Representatives, and partially elected Senate
  • Judicial Branch: Constitutional Tribunal, the Courts of Justice, and the Administrative Courts
  • Multiparty system, but the Communist Party is prohibited
Laos:
  • The government is a Communist state
  • Executive Branches: President, Chairman, Council of Ministers, Politburo with 11 members, and a Central Committee with 50 members
  • Legislative: National Assembly with 132 members,
  • Judicial: District, Regional, and a National Supreme Court
  • The only legal party is Lao People’s Revolutionary Party
